The daughter of former Creighton soccer coach Bob Warming has died in a car crash in Pittsburgh.
According to reports, Audrey Warming died early Sunday morning after a wrong-way crash on an exit ramp of Interstate 376 in Pittsburgh.
The 21-year-old died at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center from blunt force trauma around 3:40 a.m. The crash happened at 2 a.m.
Warming is now the coach at Penn State.
The reports say that Audrey Warming was driving her 2004 Volkswagen Jetta the wrong way on an off-ramp when her vehicle collided with a vehicle exiting the highway.
Dave Joyner, the acting director of athletics, issued this statement:
“On behalf of everyone in Penn State athletics, I would like to extend our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to Bob and Cindy Warming on the tragic loss of their daughter, Audrey. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Warming family and their friends at this very difficult time. We are deeply saddened as a family by the sudden and terrible loss the Warmings have suffered and will support them any way we can.
“We would ask that all Penn Staters please keep Coach Warming and his family in your thoughts and prayers and ask that everyone please respect the family's privacy and allow them to grieve during this time of deep sorrow.”
Funeral arrangements are pending.
