NEW ORLEANS — Paige Frauendorfer scored a career-high 26 points and added 12 rebounds as the University of Nebraska at Omaha women’s basketball team cruised past New Orleans 88-57 Saturday.
Taijhe Kelly added career highs of 14 points and 18 rebounds for the Mavs (15-11). Her rebound total tied for eighth-best in school history and gave her the first double-double of her career.
UNO jumped out to a 15-2 lead in the opening minutes and never looked back, leading by as many as 24 in the first half. In the second half, UNO shot 51.9 percent and led by as many as 36. New Orleans, in the process of transitioning from Division I to Division II, fell to 0-24.
The Mavs shot 47.1 percent (32 of 68) for the game while matching their season high with 88 points. UNO outrebounded New Orleans 58-27 and held the Privateers to 29.5 percent shooting from the floor (18 of 61).
Jamie Nash and Cathleen Cox each had 13 points, and Stacia Gebers chipped in 11 points for UNO.
Keri Thomas led the Privateers with 19 points.
The Mavs conclude their season at 2 p.m. Monday at Louisiana-Lafayette.
